I start this blog in my 5th year, alot of the house is finished I have just the street, terrace garden and the roof space to build. The house is now gone, but the blog lives on.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.comBlogger116125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-58398529271561228622014-05-10T18:16:00.001+01:002014-05-10T18:16:20.355+01:00On display<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Loads of tiny treasures on display.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzq8rO2jzvS_b_OdaFCg97O88HYlq_a_ymRd_92b2-QW9-mqxJb1Sqc51nU7ufKGj8O4PuFMT1FL959Cc3eV81DyltPtUd4O1nyqsyNcIVY1QVkzh1kPdnKemPLfWc_rg3ssX1B5TRtb4/s1600/SAM_3164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzq8rO2jzvS_b_OdaFCg97O88HYlq_a_ymRd_92b2-QW9-mqxJb1Sqc51nU7ufKGj8O4PuFMT1FL959Cc3eV81DyltPtUd4O1nyqsyNcIVY1QVkzh1kPdnKemPLfWc_rg3ssX1B5TRtb4/s1600/SAM_3164.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this frame in a local charity shop, £3.95, a bargain and perfect for a long standing plan. I threw away all the contents and cleaned the plastic back sections. Adding coloured papers to the back to cover the imperfections. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvKmftL8lQNBAPPH_5ObSL8rlCw2zpcvC26wJP5MGu_TZ6T39GGRRovXyadnAnbMxDOqDIjc2zXbMw3ER1ePqa4OE3vMFsoxdsJGqrVJ8owJfLVwLCMPvB6ZLKkvL8Gug0P0R-tm0G6AM/s1600/SAM_3153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvKmftL8lQNBAPPH_5ObSL8rlCw2zpcvC26wJP5MGu_TZ6T39GGRRovXyadnAnbMxDOqDIjc2zXbMw3ER1ePqa4OE3vMFsoxdsJGqrVJ8owJfLVwLCMPvB6ZLKkvL8Gug0P0R-tm0G6AM/s1600/SAM_3153.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then the fun, finding all these lovely items from my big house.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqEhbGM6RpQ72NI2zXrSoH3XMD6CiWF968czIZGllXOf4QfEtuBRWmg-thpM1xaHpA_TiE1ghiWW8jfNHzE0Hk2p8pE_-QxnutfB8TU-wCAf6krsWD3X6doqrIosHWhiGU7BE9G5d3Tn8/s1600/SAM_3157.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqEhbGM6RpQ72NI2zXrSoH3XMD6CiWF968czIZGllXOf4QfEtuBRWmg-thpM1xaHpA_TiE1ghiWW8jfNHzE0Hk2p8pE_-QxnutfB8TU-wCAf6krsWD3X6doqrIosHWhiGU7BE9G5d3Tn8/s1600/SAM_3157.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just a few of the special items.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi64PhWPPS7rbWgD3tREnBxe0_UCA0zJ2_FEJxAcFtm7fzu8kKLQi2cRwY73lTZTxtvlaALM9NSonVeOwEA0_dfysh374gsxNtU6l6jiK2_jn1wawNdPGS2SJrxskDWc2pvF_YX84PhZLI/s1600/SAM_3158.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi64PhWPPS7rbWgD3tREnBxe0_UCA0zJ2_FEJxAcFtm7fzu8kKLQi2cRwY73lTZTxtvlaALM9NSonVeOwEA0_dfysh374gsxNtU6l6jiK2_jn1wawNdPGS2SJrxskDWc2pvF_YX84PhZLI/s1600/SAM_3158.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now to hang it on my office wall.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHis_htPH3NNW-GNSISmwI_WYAsOn8eumgRD3iqrwACPoleWzbzNDmqFTWtXHl5AUxj0IcBJ_v5Gk2ovJ9jGJgyIRvF6NZkwK3Q2KjfIlZMSeQ1Xh2pjUA5YP-0hpYsikSqmRg07v_aqk/s1600/SAM_3160.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHis_htPH3NNW-GNSISmwI_WYAsOn8eumgRD3iqrwACPoleWzbzNDmqFTWtXHl5AUxj0IcBJ_v5Gk2ovJ9jGJgyIRvF6NZkwK3Q2KjfIlZMSeQ1Xh2pjUA5YP-0hpYsikSqmRg07v_aqk/s1600/SAM_3160.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
It's great when a plan comes together, and after looking at loads of more expensive frames which did not fully meet the requirements, pleasing to have stumbled across just what I needed.<br />
Most of what I have here is just so special to me, I hated having them packed away.<br />
Still have plans for my library room, but my real garden is taking most of my time.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-4129470940584445702014-04-06T17:39:00.001+01:002014-04-06T17:39:55.433+01:00Almost, but not quiet<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had good plans for my mini corner this afternoon</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOsFZlXmyjwLRWMEmsIOCV7k47am6jzx8PyoUqXsUrnJ54uOZkVebdEb4GIzWNdRlu-G6FZ2UbppscUFE16KftHRFgemwvIFdrUonrHvqgG59WkFoss_J3EbATfO9oJvxJzHWzAwHMrT4/s1600/SAM_2907.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOsFZlXmyjwLRWMEmsIOCV7k47am6jzx8PyoUqXsUrnJ54uOZkVebdEb4GIzWNdRlu-G6FZ2UbppscUFE16KftHRFgemwvIFdrUonrHvqgG59WkFoss_J3EbATfO9oJvxJzHWzAwHMrT4/s1600/SAM_2907.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I was going to get hubby to cut the ceiling board, and add this paper, I would then paint it white. I have used this paper in Somerset House it makes the ceiling look great.<br />
I also wanted to lay the floor, I have found my wooden blocks and purchased a flat piece of black leather to use, my plans were set, by this time my corner would look tidy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtNUdcjHx9SBdiGWo8-jRavAXMuH8JjRHFfOBxhEfPyUXrGbqUdZ4iadDvKtM0WkgdXawvoeXkhj7zdg4_MFcaMZIpAVaLLZVvRW7hNo8Vyf2XMoDliXJ2pyQ8u1KmbTRF37K81Gma5yY/s1600/SAM_2908.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtNUdcjHx9SBdiGWo8-jRavAXMuH8JjRHFfOBxhEfPyUXrGbqUdZ4iadDvKtM0WkgdXawvoeXkhj7zdg4_MFcaMZIpAVaLLZVvRW7hNo8Vyf2XMoDliXJ2pyQ8u1KmbTRF37K81Gma5yY/s1600/SAM_2908.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have also made another mini rug, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
not for this project, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have all the rugs I require, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but as a gift for <a href="http://my-wee-life.blogspot.co.uk/">Laura</a> it will fit in a project she is working on. </div>

Oliver came to visit, so a few hours of fun and no mini work done, he is so cute he is forgiven.<br />

I have Wednesday afternoon at home waiting for a delivery, so I will have a mini afternoon. I would like to have the floor done and paint the walls, the ceiling will have to be done next weekend.<br />
With stitching and gardening my mini time is limited.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-53365224540502651562014-03-02T14:09:00.000+00:002014-03-02T14:09:03.449+00:00Start at the bottom<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have made a start on the wooden floor, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am using pre cut tiles for the outer edge, these I had in my stash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghjf3RU6SIHOKRAeCRz_plL5kUXykrfnI_kgXJb9thRAi2G3vAkIuQY5oKbzFeQNRE3yipdcn3wv8y0WPqP-rQxs9A3oY09RbDPgbTeBigdEa0RNUQMm7sUaW-mmDCwl7Ss2vAI_32tEo/s1600/SAM_2661.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghjf3RU6SIHOKRAeCRz_plL5kUXykrfnI_kgXJb9thRAi2G3vAkIuQY5oKbzFeQNRE3yipdcn3wv8y0WPqP-rQxs9A3oY09RbDPgbTeBigdEa0RNUQMm7sUaW-mmDCwl7Ss2vAI_32tEo/s1600/SAM_2661.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I always lay my flooring on card, it helps me keep every thing neat, and should I require access, I can slide the card out. I have glued the outer band, and just laid a few tiles to show the herringbone style I love for the middle. I would like to have a thin dark wood band between the outer and inner tiles.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-xQ76qNKvwuXySX05YrMBQMIQk_qk_dI2slHFEW6s80Som2u5aT0XRM4fYrWQSjnewfvMfV_t9fecsqiE8uxPyv5Lxkcas8Bi1Pw0Y6EG7i08A-VdvHLnlqsLngkSGgVVe4JapD-p_yA/s1600/SAM_2664.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-xQ76qNKvwuXySX05YrMBQMIQk_qk_dI2slHFEW6s80Som2u5aT0XRM4fYrWQSjnewfvMfV_t9fecsqiE8uxPyv5Lxkcas8Bi1Pw0Y6EG7i08A-VdvHLnlqsLngkSGgVVe4JapD-p_yA/s1600/SAM_2664.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I'm not as far forward as I wanted to be, I have packed my stash of used tiles away and can't find them, this afternoon I will have another look for them. I still need to purchase the wood required for the book shelves and wall panels, and the paint.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXXWVN74qcDwAbdTcsEckLk2-6AzYKvz0kRJKGJFVRMiVFcDH7k0aeNYbQUF1a6SjlK1dd3iJExQyUYmNJpXVNI9eaKYXbt1iNOjll67-1Asr2W4xx6i8r7u-jBrDNx011BTgXb4zW6jE/s1600/SAM_2665.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXXWVN74qcDwAbdTcsEckLk2-6AzYKvz0kRJKGJFVRMiVFcDH7k0aeNYbQUF1a6SjlK1dd3iJExQyUYmNJpXVNI9eaKYXbt1iNOjll67-1Asr2W4xx6i8r7u-jBrDNx011BTgXb4zW6jE/s1600/SAM_2665.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I did put the 1st level of mount board along the back wall, the door has been cut into the board, I still have to build both sides to create the alcoves.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz0gJ__khAuGJOqHNepZDOozmQ9HE8q6J2d_MxZzLzu-O9rd0nwho4QQsG1xWm313By86o_QrbfquQsoa5JCRcqdYKkwwOeHiNCzPaP7xBa6IZPANdsP8OMy5h6Hz9616HVQ-ahjF6l_c/s1600/SAM_2667.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz0gJ__khAuGJOqHNepZDOozmQ9HE8q6J2d_MxZzLzu-O9rd0nwho4QQsG1xWm313By86o_QrbfquQsoa5JCRcqdYKkwwOeHiNCzPaP7xBa6IZPANdsP8OMy5h6Hz9616HVQ-ahjF6l_c/s1600/SAM_2667.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The light above was purchased from <a href="http://www.raystoreylighting.com/home/index.htm">Ray Storey</a>, his work is fantastic, it hung in my basement kitchen, but I wanted to use them again, along with all the lamps I have.<br />
I hope to have time this week to be able to do more, I still have the lighting system to connect to my other room boxes.<br />
Can I point you all to a new website being run by Laura, she has started <a href="http://www.inshminiatures.co.uk/">Insh Miniatures</a> and amongst the normal items for sale, she has loads of hand made items, including 2 hand stitched rugs by me, please visit and support this new venture.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-48783406054230636422014-02-23T18:29:00.004+00:002014-02-23T18:31:52.088+00:00Rethink<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you missed me, it's been 8 months, it is fair to say I stalled on my last project, so a rethink has taken place, I got out my board, and some of the pieces I would love to use again from Somerset House.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYPsQ1iXlePqKUFWAVLOFIXTXggB5WiTHJSGpQtgMXmlpQASUZHFOwW8cZUKPKE6s6j5lB1sVnWC6tRplNOF6D0Z_DOLh_67SkiI4meqYInF8VDecbdcTEmRQnrsJYuRFcUNY0T7SUiJ0/s1600/SAM_2647.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYPsQ1iXlePqKUFWAVLOFIXTXggB5WiTHJSGpQtgMXmlpQASUZHFOwW8cZUKPKE6s6j5lB1sVnWC6tRplNOF6D0Z_DOLh_67SkiI4meqYInF8VDecbdcTEmRQnrsJYuRFcUNY0T7SUiJ0/s1600/SAM_2647.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Please do not look at the wall colours, I have put this together to see if it will work, and I am feeling happy. I have loads of desk and lamps, which I was thinking I could put in a shop, but this looks better, a library. I am reusing most of the nice things I have stored, it's time for me to put them back on show.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6SVeOd-Q3U5ZKIxQqapFIHth7AK6lQ0SADDN68kqxIsPx6Nxf4oBS89r4pPnKopeXcmfu76miYEv2CZtXCT5X9qT1ZGf22OkIbw8_BkKw2kU_MwfbF4YPqD1-zlZB6-uqMWhiExu2MTU/s1600/SAM_2650.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6SVeOd-Q3U5ZKIxQqapFIHth7AK6lQ0SADDN68kqxIsPx6Nxf4oBS89r4pPnKopeXcmfu76miYEv2CZtXCT5X9qT1ZGf22OkIbw8_BkKw2kU_MwfbF4YPqD1-zlZB6-uqMWhiExu2MTU/s1600/SAM_2650.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Along the back wall, I want to use mount board, 1st to set the door into the wall, and then on both sides, I want to have an alcove using the furniture pieces I have here. Also I want a wall of books, my plan is to build the alcoves out to the width of the book selves, which I will build into the back wall.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRjsjMgfg-IIgmIx9eNG_iVvYhwOEV5bw_1WNIMQHWreAUBrCtJJjlCFcl70ZVaFYXg6WGZMGdDPHuTFYKUwQQuxYLo2GNcK70-hVR2iE6HwInxgkhl-afmHxiIpP7-2PWHmcRmkt8fd0/s1600/SAM_2651.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRjsjMgfg-IIgmIx9eNG_iVvYhwOEV5bw_1WNIMQHWreAUBrCtJJjlCFcl70ZVaFYXg6WGZMGdDPHuTFYKUwQQuxYLo2GNcK70-hVR2iE6HwInxgkhl-afmHxiIpP7-2PWHmcRmkt8fd0/s1600/SAM_2651.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It came to me yesterday, the problem I had with my project in previous post, it's modern, but I love the style below. I will make a herringbone wooden floor, half panel walls and using the same dark green, but with loads of space.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQyStzeAhjosAAk2UdYYeC9mAM2pZb6TZqAgyskT_6f3LcNdXHiSY86izvou84eUMo7QPmrQEBjVgzH5XHk8jHNeEyS3I6-AE0moGDR8ljzyTEcyPhTtSWOeWvy_y1vJX15g5-NJbEUjY/s1600/IMGP1665.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQyStzeAhjosAAk2UdYYeC9mAM2pZb6TZqAgyskT_6f3LcNdXHiSY86izvou84eUMo7QPmrQEBjVgzH5XHk8jHNeEyS3I6-AE0moGDR8ljzyTEcyPhTtSWOeWvy_y1vJX15g5-NJbEUjY/s1600/IMGP1665.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
My corner looks a mess, I have attached my lighting control box to the kitchen, and I will attach, my shop, my sewing room and the library, so each can be lit. I also plan to have a candle in my beach hut.<br />

I am going on line to find the polished wood for the library shelves, and then later in the week, off to B&Q for the paint, Hobby craft for the mount board, I have all the <a href="http://somersethouseaproject.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/new-floor-from-old.html">floor tiles</a>. The front I am going to have a clear sheet like I have on my kitchen, I want to be able to see in.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-55706653500804025302013-06-08T09:29:00.002+01:002013-06-08T09:29:44.135+01:00New stitching<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I am now looking at doing the floor, in Somerset House I did a wood block floor, which I glued to cardboard, so I could still get to the lighting. I saved the floor cards, just in case. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have decided to reuse these, my new project has a very large floor space, and as each room was a slightly different shade I could not just put them together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOJlIOZlHSYLiLK6ghm_k8Uysv-L1lqt71Jnr6Qrnd_nr5SNMm2lCOfdwyF_I8rroUk8EAFk3tRea_gKFWvPT2Z76PkqeKL3Uz75r8AYef9a4riFX9zq4wAgCEma-AP1Ye2n5zYLF_5D4/s1600/DSC08587.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOJlIOZlHSYLiLK6ghm_k8Uysv-L1lqt71Jnr6Qrnd_nr5SNMm2lCOfdwyF_I8rroUk8EAFk3tRea_gKFWvPT2Z76PkqeKL3Uz75r8AYef9a4riFX9zq4wAgCEma-AP1Ye2n5zYLF_5D4/s320/DSC08587.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So to reuse the blocks, I laid wet paper kitchen towel over the under side card, and when it was mushy I scraped the card away from the blocks. It did not take long for the card to get soaked.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdr89SEeax0_yDf-jkq2AuLIhrM0IBjUGUsmFX1NWh7dWgu7y11EqytlTDnD0H0VgJbp9ri6BW3v5QAbazE2UGAvVqmL61SqyRmS-tgPOuED06zB2BOHO4D9MJua7vBeW-MlRejoSo-4k/s1600/DSC08590.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdr89SEeax0_yDf-jkq2AuLIhrM0IBjUGUsmFX1NWh7dWgu7y11EqytlTDnD0H0VgJbp9ri6BW3v5QAbazE2UGAvVqmL61SqyRmS-tgPOuED06zB2BOHO4D9MJua7vBeW-MlRejoSo-4k/s320/DSC08590.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I am left with the blocks still stuck together, but whilst still damp I am able to separate them, I need loads so I have three floors to break down. I will mix the colours together, and reattach to new card board templates.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnQuRS7fkcjKnqyKKbhmQ6txpC6kKivn4pB3xv16kIWqNI5DePDMigokz-9eC3j8avuFt9ctW4ZhlbDgd8tYpg4VZS5EdRIWBiXQ7YuWrgANAqGZ-WvdWWJaj9OiZVBrfsHhR8RXlu9oU/s1600/DSC08588.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnQuRS7fkcjKnqyKKbhmQ6txpC6kKivn4pB3xv16kIWqNI5DePDMigokz-9eC3j8avuFt9ctW4ZhlbDgd8tYpg4VZS5EdRIWBiXQ7YuWrgANAqGZ-WvdWWJaj9OiZVBrfsHhR8RXlu9oU/s320/DSC08588.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Not all the blocks can be used, I have have enough to do the main floor at no cost to me. So I am going back to my task, once I have all single blocks again, I will have to wait until they are dry and then stick them and sand them.<br />
It's not the best task, but once done I will be really chuffed.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-70332923264584510122013-05-15T19:11:00.000+01:002013-05-15T19:11:07.714+01:00Colour my world<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am really having issues with my new build, there are no designs, I am doing every thing from scratch, and that's my problem, because I do not have a building, I can not decide what I will put inside, and therefore I can't build my project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2n-XLUyB47EddyvyfLywq8FDQZhoMXsB1hQ6V-bYuXjXQ29BuYwnZWHgllZxc27HdjQc6RE47eMHCE6GtMEqdV3nEdCAyEPJj6Tqa2UiKKEo0njPpmAr7n-vREFdokFn-lIhxKnWWe2Q/s1600/SAM_1805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2n-XLUyB47EddyvyfLywq8FDQZhoMXsB1hQ6V-bYuXjXQ29BuYwnZWHgllZxc27HdjQc6RE47eMHCE6GtMEqdV3nEdCAyEPJj6Tqa2UiKKEo0njPpmAr7n-vREFdokFn-lIhxKnWWe2Q/s320/SAM_1805.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So I decided it was time for colour, and I went modern and bright, starting on the lower section I painted what I had. A jet black shiny door, with white frames. I have been thinking Jade for a long time, for no reason than it's bright. the other walls are pale violet, I will have a natural wood floor.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT6Du1oVJky6V0URyTDWSfijCd0sfsyczoMV9PRZSS_jO_No-8eVv-ilG4PxMnZtr1Kck8PI1kJRCVdd6MqvRVp_dB2aCXAOzkir8HsJ6ODV68rWLtr7BEyvv8CWBEmkwUe0XQIcuBMGI/s1600/SAM_1815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT6Du1oVJky6V0URyTDWSfijCd0sfsyczoMV9PRZSS_jO_No-8eVv-ilG4PxMnZtr1Kck8PI1kJRCVdd6MqvRVp_dB2aCXAOzkir8HsJ6ODV68rWLtr7BEyvv8CWBEmkwUe0XQIcuBMGI/s320/SAM_1815.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So what do you think, it does make a statement, and now it feels more like a building. I am thinking a shop in the big space, a posh shop.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFoV9336-BRWdBQQ01n1P0gg55KKoTXalqEnaNYZxPZ3ui2IxjCzaqhm6XbgU2tix4diz0vNAojeReEEpbJTaRaGFZ9n8b_dd5CJWyIeex3TeC-P4FCc1OAVkPBjmcmM6DKFM6QKM4KvQ/s1600/SAM_1814.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFoV9336-BRWdBQQ01n1P0gg55KKoTXalqEnaNYZxPZ3ui2IxjCzaqhm6XbgU2tix4diz0vNAojeReEEpbJTaRaGFZ9n8b_dd5CJWyIeex3TeC-P4FCc1OAVkPBjmcmM6DKFM6QKM4KvQ/s320/SAM_1814.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
An office in this smaller space, bit I will finish the windows and the floor 1st, it's a huge space to fill.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgieTc8jE6VZ7hrcKLgL3JyQzRxEVwXp1qKQIoy3BbEar1qmC-CsWyQa1ftcKcAJ4EhU3dzc9Wb7MsRXKLXlzukU4R8LMBZCpVj2fC6Awa-bzU3NaWVTW2mmSvlZg36eON009PmCb54VXQ/s1600/SAM_1812.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgieTc8jE6VZ7hrcKLgL3JyQzRxEVwXp1qKQIoy3BbEar1qmC-CsWyQa1ftcKcAJ4EhU3dzc9Wb7MsRXKLXlzukU4R8LMBZCpVj2fC6Awa-bzU3NaWVTW2mmSvlZg36eON009PmCb54VXQ/s320/SAM_1812.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I would still like to have a glass front, like a studio, all the natural light.<br />
<br />
I have been looking at every thing I have collected and there are some beautiful bits, which I can't part with so I am thinking an antiques shop, to show off my nicer bits, with an apartment above and a courtyard space.<br />
I have so many things I can reuse, which I would love to see on display.<br />
Slowly it is coming together...<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is very exciting, I decided to use my blog to produce a book</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Somerset House is gone, but not forgotten</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTmF09A4eOtAOIF-2E8oqllf2s4kD-Tupk4spkFoziVCJcb6DSVz6DIzduvyyjunmt4W7mAp3ZH5IjD5ASZ9J_EHbIMWEtwL6RY_art2HzwT4FxjOCrKDZvlHuh7HjBl7AAfyG83gAMqI/s1600/SAM_1730.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTmF09A4eOtAOIF-2E8oqllf2s4kD-Tupk4spkFoziVCJcb6DSVz6DIzduvyyjunmt4W7mAp3ZH5IjD5ASZ9J_EHbIMWEtwL6RY_art2HzwT4FxjOCrKDZvlHuh7HjBl7AAfyG83gAMqI/s320/SAM_1730.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Just a couple views from inside, a complete record of the house and contents, I was so pleased reading through it, it's just an indulgence for me, I did add in a final chapter my projects room boxes. Every thing in one place.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIbAg-lJ7Ch6KcvtEUNBQ4J_ZPSVuLC7V5GKhT7l2kqZiSEVgDxO-LDJo8MEkMCCPbQP1ppDO_mvXgpbmplMOz8-YroNVeng5Ta4Eo_u_EAOBvheDmTKBEh3H-Q2u4lBMOgISdaecc47w/s1600/SAM_1732.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIbAg-lJ7Ch6KcvtEUNBQ4J_ZPSVuLC7V5GKhT7l2kqZiSEVgDxO-LDJo8MEkMCCPbQP1ppDO_mvXgpbmplMOz8-YroNVeng5Ta4Eo_u_EAOBvheDmTKBEh3H-Q2u4lBMOgISdaecc47w/s320/SAM_1732.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I use a company called Blurb, through them you download your blog into a book, you then design each page using text and photo's from your blog. It's simple to use, allows you to add more photo's or text.<br />
<br />
I have three other books for my other blog <a href="http://poppypatchwork.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/sit-down-long-interesting-post.html">Poppy Patchwork</a>Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-18072436179644171972013-04-18T16:45:00.000+01:002013-04-18T16:48:04.425+01:00Very modern I have not done much building, I have been looking at various designs for the build, I now have a clearer idea on how I will build this space.<br />
I do want black shiny internal doors, with white door trims, here is the first coat, once dry I will sand it down and give the door a second final coat.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUgD4K5qfag_g74NbZ6x5RpXzwBlt5fWFRVhZ7cZS_1fUL0Y2nnSGU51hega29bfVZW7WpMbN-Fq0lvO7315jhMN6lmuHY5GwB7prvn9PSTNRB701sx5Gxoc-r8YwkfLnr9vsO7IbMcCM/s1600/SAM_1661.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUgD4K5qfag_g74NbZ6x5RpXzwBlt5fWFRVhZ7cZS_1fUL0Y2nnSGU51hega29bfVZW7WpMbN-Fq0lvO7315jhMN6lmuHY5GwB7prvn9PSTNRB701sx5Gxoc-r8YwkfLnr9vsO7IbMcCM/s320/SAM_1661.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I still do not know what or who will be inside this project, I have loads of ideas, part of me thinks I have some beautiful stuff and should stick with them, and then I start thinking of ultra modern, is it a home or a shop, library or art gallery. Which will match my creative side.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVc6__Cx2p0gA0tMAVtNFbFwvy_A27eoFJlyuuwC3FdICGQ1X75flVdueuNRX-exygp8lJJ4mSLtUlogZoe59ZdOGCUeTYGD4bnUn5CGdTFHhCNR8MN6qiNAN2zXSqlQzmkR7tdtwLl0/s1600/SAM_1662.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVc6__Cx2p0gA0tMAVtNFbFwvy_A27eoFJlyuuwC3FdICGQ1X75flVdueuNRX-exygp8lJJ4mSLtUlogZoe59ZdOGCUeTYGD4bnUn5CGdTFHhCNR8MN6qiNAN2zXSqlQzmkR7tdtwLl0/s320/SAM_1662.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I am thinking the back wall in this pink with a sparkly overcoat, this is in the bottom large room. It would be much easier if I have a building to make and then decide on rooms. This is building has started the wrong way around.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0nCaVX9csRVUpnFnV_h2WehE2bMthOKX6irxcqFRlqcEtBcO1QTqWEHDAMzVHCDvA0aJEKGR_KhGmtJCSZnkKvalYXlXTcAPWw8E3kM7nnIH10e4DECzHqjK-T-i7sFZonEmp_LH8LeA/s1600/SAM_1663.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0nCaVX9csRVUpnFnV_h2WehE2bMthOKX6irxcqFRlqcEtBcO1QTqWEHDAMzVHCDvA0aJEKGR_KhGmtJCSZnkKvalYXlXTcAPWw8E3kM7nnIH10e4DECzHqjK-T-i7sFZonEmp_LH8LeA/s320/SAM_1663.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I am going with the big studio windows for both floors, with a small walk way on ground floor and use my railings, I still like the idea of a terrace garden on the top floor.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2K-taV3GxMaZs5LUwxLN_nPqS4g_VOEHABxy68vJK3nFwmSR41RPXZVCG88Uy3-kmVmAGmiL44RpsysCoGhIizseNuEv1KNesDvjd14pqMRa9sQ6KHKMydZJ_6Th38WAjcOVCdj6oez4/s1600/SAM_1565.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2K-taV3GxMaZs5LUwxLN_nPqS4g_VOEHABxy68vJK3nFwmSR41RPXZVCG88Uy3-kmVmAGmiL44RpsysCoGhIizseNuEv1KNesDvjd14pqMRa9sQ6KHKMydZJ_6Th38WAjcOVCdj6oez4/s320/SAM_1565.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I had a good sizes base board with groves set in for my starting point, once sorted I could cut it to correct size, I added a few walls, much bigger than 1st planned, but a really nice space, an apartment came to mind, going off in a totally different direction, but I played.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6eKKbf_2VDiWq82BwfrrkbvBEeFuuJp-c8xzSQY8AGXRwkh-tjPtZ_RrCApkhlE4K-dy1Y5S4DdNNudUUEsvUlGK4sUpXJl0BvuPMOsCt4_9TnarCSWOnVrQaPtAiQZ1Io6u_PEIPEN8/s1600/SAM_1566.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6eKKbf_2VDiWq82BwfrrkbvBEeFuuJp-c8xzSQY8AGXRwkh-tjPtZ_RrCApkhlE4K-dy1Y5S4DdNNudUUEsvUlGK4sUpXJl0BvuPMOsCt4_9TnarCSWOnVrQaPtAiQZ1Io6u_PEIPEN8/s320/SAM_1566.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Hubby cut the bottom walls to match the angle of the top wall, this is getting very modern, I watch to many Grand Designs. But I liked doing some thing different.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJJYz-9tgCixTtVWIkmYEbvqvapIzp3Fd_cKCBALgEbm4njUyRJt7b9X90Cy-qWJfKmWNZYuUXcnxTLUOvOHfBLmaveVTtbY6H0RLWfdblYp5CkdA2x4pNI7GDMgUcZR8ENo_Uq_M7hlk/s1600/SAM_1571.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJJYz-9tgCixTtVWIkmYEbvqvapIzp3Fd_cKCBALgEbm4njUyRJt7b9X90Cy-qWJfKmWNZYuUXcnxTLUOvOHfBLmaveVTtbY6H0RLWfdblYp5CkdA2x4pNI7GDMgUcZR8ENo_Uq_M7hlk/s320/SAM_1571.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Inside two levels, with a door at the back to gain entrance, and stairs in the larger space.This smaller side could be an entrance space, office or small kitchen. I can swap the door at this stage and have it going into the larger space and do a different type of stairs, these are just here to gain ideas.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiryVVIU0qAklU6ujoqCzE-PIpORjbf8Q5XQOLPK5R3fYsQeKwQXrmEGjyU_3WFCwrxwdANQG-lCThNj4Fo4WhKvkNskf5Lz4KN4SPuK8vzO-AnVBq1HeoADYoiKR7pfMJHY_AlKojdz-M/s1600/SAM_1574.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiryVVIU0qAklU6ujoqCzE-PIpORjbf8Q5XQOLPK5R3fYsQeKwQXrmEGjyU_3WFCwrxwdANQG-lCThNj4Fo4WhKvkNskf5Lz4KN4SPuK8vzO-AnVBq1HeoADYoiKR7pfMJHY_AlKojdz-M/s320/SAM_1574.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So my thinking is, two rooms on the lower floor, a bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor, and in the right hand corner an outside garden. I can swap the top sides over so the wall will be bricked, and I have spare bricks for the exposed back wall.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6q2SIQKyLr3U1sUJeHq-cbklOAlh2Ot5lEBCYixkmbqWTdPP_SwwSc3vzwQB85tBo5L2piuQzZk6D-tHTpi3x28aLWlcGBYVkHF1wgbuNrrEJZp87Ugvxty-9jSXWdymmQo0yKVaUeVA/s1600/SAM_1572.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6q2SIQKyLr3U1sUJeHq-cbklOAlh2Ot5lEBCYixkmbqWTdPP_SwwSc3vzwQB85tBo5L2piuQzZk6D-tHTpi3x28aLWlcGBYVkHF1wgbuNrrEJZp87Ugvxty-9jSXWdymmQo0yKVaUeVA/s320/SAM_1572.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
With a flat roof, and a sloping front, which I will have as large glass panels, very much like a loft conversion.<br />
I will not decide who can live here until I have built it, I could have some one with love of antiques and use items from Somerset House, or I could go ultra modern. But I can wait until it is built. I require a couple of longer panels for the upper floor and the roof.<br />
<br />
But I need to research and get the look right for the build, but it's a very good start.<br />
<br />
My shop and kitchen has been place on the top shelf of bookcase and sits just under here.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-1129084949738177322013-03-28T09:11:00.000+00:002013-03-28T09:11:55.044+00:00Hello, anyone there Will you forgive me I have been away for so long, losing my mojo, work and life have kept me away, yesterday I sorted my office and moved my toy shop and kitchen, I have placed the kitchen above the toy shop, they were never made to be a pair.<br />

So much has happened since I last blogged, I came to realise, if I were to finish Somerset House it would be to complete the task rather than for love, creating the main body of the house was my passion, and I had done that to a level I was so very proud of. Plus the task had been going for almost 8 years, so I made the decision to dismantle it. I have packed all the tiny accessories away, they will come out again, I have saved the special bits of furniture I so love. I will have an e-bay moment to sell on loads and probably a give away on here, but the house is gone.<br />
<br />
Fliss has a two story small house I can have if I wish, and I have enough walls, windows and doors to make at least 3 room boxes. I have ideas, a library, a modern apartment, a church. I want to make as much as I can and use some of the stunning items I have, I will put loads on a section frame, behind glass.<br />
<br />
I have been working on a book, it's only for me, I have taken pictures from my blog and put them into a book, a record of my achievement, I hope to have it printed soon.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-89229287641770073852012-09-23T18:39:00.000+01:002012-09-23T18:39:21.836+01:00Railings<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAs7sWxQwwTtLS3f1rJPsOFv3LnmI3KuYHpJ8GS_DWNR6h68bj36S-P8-ww1bSr1QKIjw3UD36wwLj73gmVh1gM1cqvCoPQ3-sQLmZ6BElEF6IwKNXxZ2mYky6vBzuOdjhgvp_Xwv3crk/s1600/SAM_0798.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAs7sWxQwwTtLS3f1rJPsOFv3LnmI3KuYHpJ8GS_DWNR6h68bj36S-P8-ww1bSr1QKIjw3UD36wwLj73gmVh1gM1cqvCoPQ3-sQLmZ6BElEF6IwKNXxZ2mYky6vBzuOdjhgvp_Xwv3crk/s320/SAM_0798.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The railing were alot easier to put together than I first thought, I decided to drill them into the pavement rather than have them on a ridge, I was unable to find anything which looked right as the ridge. Because I have gone away from the kit, I am doing this as I go along, finding solutions and hopefully not many problems.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWkoGnzD6y_KsOGchTCiWC0COPWALdteNXsxFvNqLoOF0ON1fV6fOIOdrD4nSH9xkQdA0VSBRHR7KUeovKqU5Zwoe4YoV66s49QUoXPAy_S0aBHd9FewUltcmYt0yFtphPEZ3HyQphrLI/s1600/SAM_0803.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWkoGnzD6y_KsOGchTCiWC0COPWALdteNXsxFvNqLoOF0ON1fV6fOIOdrD4nSH9xkQdA0VSBRHR7KUeovKqU5Zwoe4YoV66s49QUoXPAy_S0aBHd9FewUltcmYt0yFtphPEZ3HyQphrLI/s320/SAM_0803.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The first thing I did was to stop the steps to the house moving, I drilled through the bottom step and the pavement, using a post with a longer bottom, to hold it all together, so simple and so effective. I used a ink pad to mark where to drill holes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCYRKE34JFshe-wyufK57Xs_FFYc6y7KnQMfzucfoYvlFiHsql17tqPkHE-16hvzP4_DdbB5wBdKN5-W1HM-GMRen-OeGtm89t7ewi3j2oFcgmDAJrzBror12cOYMgf_lmq3HFFhVco38/s1600/SAM_0805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCYRKE34JFshe-wyufK57Xs_FFYc6y7KnQMfzucfoYvlFiHsql17tqPkHE-16hvzP4_DdbB5wBdKN5-W1HM-GMRen-OeGtm89t7ewi3j2oFcgmDAJrzBror12cOYMgf_lmq3HFFhVco38/s320/SAM_0805.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The holes are not to near the back of the pavement so every thing is safe, I cut down the post for the house steps, so every thing would match.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtdCVGW4-5GdJozHpiX8y4e2waZlr2HPCAIjJOWoe_j7nK0xT8XO_3VjGTaKvBQp48ELTTcANnL_jvsHV2xCmhaWH7bbsjlu_Iy2eeuSU20K5rsYEZd6fvJNMvTDwNipAV9OOsvSHFSm8/s1600/SAM_0807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtdCVGW4-5GdJozHpiX8y4e2waZlr2HPCAIjJOWoe_j7nK0xT8XO_3VjGTaKvBQp48ELTTcANnL_jvsHV2xCmhaWH7bbsjlu_Iy2eeuSU20K5rsYEZd6fvJNMvTDwNipAV9OOsvSHFSm8/s320/SAM_0807.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I still have loads to do, I have to sort the post for the other side of the house steps, once I have sorted them I shall glue all the post in place, I did think I would use a chain to link each post from step to step, but it's not needed. The railings do look good, they will hold them selves up, without having to add anything. I will have some over, but I have no plans for using them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0HQvcAtBILrg2WkbpI_NK3ssKRhaLVZtgovssQ7VQqED7V0gs65VK4UVAB9MdG640ltlQACAMhyphenhyphengwzPRFO2SLEXeSDHAqSBdqILl6v8TcheO21w2m4084s8zx9cvTqHKelaz9abl7PM/s1600/SAM_0810.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0HQvcAtBILrg2WkbpI_NK3ssKRhaLVZtgovssQ7VQqED7V0gs65VK4UVAB9MdG640ltlQACAMhyphenhyphengwzPRFO2SLEXeSDHAqSBdqILl6v8TcheO21w2m4084s8zx9cvTqHKelaz9abl7PM/s320/SAM_0810.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I now have to decide if I want to paint the rails around the terrace garden, white or shiny black, I will have to think about it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNDcptFkipLqdN8CSr65E1ofjWxCmSqeFpN98RZYHlC1Z2yqqYuI5YmRLTEPJTy6LLXsWuQF_nm1WoC1zFwjkby2wY52z_v6y0cgSyMUj3g57uRL4S0hZU2r4fzywM_2dIoqF99mka9FQ/s1600/SAM_0812.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNDcptFkipLqdN8CSr65E1ofjWxCmSqeFpN98RZYHlC1Z2yqqYuI5YmRLTEPJTy6LLXsWuQF_nm1WoC1zFwjkby2wY52z_v6y0cgSyMUj3g57uRL4S0hZU2r4fzywM_2dIoqF99mka9FQ/s320/SAM_0812.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

We had a local show today, there were about 20 stalls, lose 2 selling just houses and a few more for furniture, we had a dozen to look at. I do love this basket, such summery colours.<br />

At Christmas, we enjoyed two wonderful bottles of wine, and I have kept this box, not sure what to make, well here goes, I want to cut a hole in the back, big enough for mice. and much like the borrowers, I want a couple of mice living inside, and every thing made from things stolen from our house, so not 12 scale,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Very different for me, fun, allowing me to play, I have cotton reels, boxes, bits of material, I want them to be comfortable, I also need to scan the net for the mice, a bit like Narnia, talking mice wearing clothes, all very fantasy.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-34794195997509174052012-04-04T09:51:00.002+01:002012-04-04T10:06:42.550+01:00Made in the USA<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">Good luck.</div>Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-58824755942437112802012-02-19T14:07:00.000+00:002012-02-19T14:07:38.485+00:00Attic space and bedrooms............... I have sorted furniture for the maids room, many items I have had for ages, the iron bed and the bed cover has been waiting a couple of years for this room to go together, Fliss gave me the wash stand, and the bonnet was purchased a couple of years ago, I have always wanted this bonnet to be on show as the maids most prized possession. The room is made smaller by not having the full depth, I have another fake wall at the back, with a rag rug on the floor, I won't have much more to add here<br />

<br />
So my promised is a couple evenings each month, I will work on my house, I have outside jobs which need completing, the attic, the street level.<br />
<br />
I have rooms to complete, the yellow bed room, the attic rooms and the basement.<br />
<br />
Gardens to create, a courtyard in front of the house. <br />
<br />
Most of the above things I hope to do using kits, and making myself, it's the way ahead since the local shows and shops are disappearing, It is a shame, we have a dolls house shop within walking distance of our house, but the owner is very opinionated, it would be great if we all could afford the best made items, and not support the cheaper imports from places like China, but our hobby has to suit our pocket, and my house has a mixture of items.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-45566726709081858772011-09-17T13:57:00.000+01:002011-09-17T13:57:31.211+01:00What to do<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-9uuFPCCBSr7oYEZ67HRlldbzOZlDW9UMNDkkXJqQ9VKXbR_PErHsLqg5QakZVkrHMVa0dWQEs2UfIHuTJNFy6z8FHGNnmvbOtglsiMoYAOetTgCF3zuWl_J1jUIrDxQNdoYGBBp__i4/s1600/hair.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-9uuFPCCBSr7oYEZ67HRlldbzOZlDW9UMNDkkXJqQ9VKXbR_PErHsLqg5QakZVkrHMVa0dWQEs2UfIHuTJNFy6z8FHGNnmvbOtglsiMoYAOetTgCF3zuWl_J1jUIrDxQNdoYGBBp__i4/s1600/hair.jpg" /></a></div>This is me, I have not done any minis for so long, Somerset House is at a stand still, I still have not put up the railings, I have all I need except the desire to get it done.<br />
<br />
I have been thinking about if I will finish Somerset House, or just store all the stuff from inside and pass the house on. I have no suggestions to what I would replace it with, or even if I will be without a house. My dear hubby says "leave it where it is, you can always do it when you have the desire again", so that's what I have done.<br />
<br />
I do feel guilty when I see the house each time I come into my office, but at this time I am getting so little pleasure from it. I went to a show earlier this year to bring back the mini buzz, but the show was so poor, not enough good makers.<br />
<br />
Can you suggest any good sites, places to visit to fire it all up again................Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4889725380909364753.post-28387577403945127932011-08-05T09:10:00.000+01:002011-08-05T09:10:13.373+01:00Another rug<div style="text-align: center;"> Hot off my needles</div><br />

No mini's at this time, not able to stand for long and most of the building work I need to stand to finish.<br />

Fliss took the large table cloth shown in my last blog and laid it on the floor, and now you see my new rug. It looks great, I am thinking about putting a coloured lining to give it depth.<br />

We did not have one big seller there, and only had three tables of which I loved the standard. It's a vicious circle we have, poor attendance stops the good sellers going to the smaller loacl shows, and then poor displays stop people going.Poppypatchworkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12749159567150084975noreply@blogger.com5
